    Obituary for David A. Lekberg, Sr.


    David A. Lekberg, Sr., 73, of Brockton, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the husband of Bonita R. (Angelo) Lekberg for 10 years.

    Born September 1, 1945 in Wareham, MA he was a son of the late Karl A. Lekberg and Louisa (Manning) Lekberg. David was raised and educated in Plymouth. He was a Vietnam Veteran who served his country in the United States Navy.

    David worked for the phone company starting for New England Telephone Company and later retired for Verizon after over 30 years of service. At a young age David enjoyed fishing. He loved the beach and the ocean. David was an avid sports fan, especially football. 

    David had a love for music and enjoyed singing. He always had a love for dogs. He enjoyed riding his bike in his younger days. David was known for his sarcasm and always enjoyed a good laugh. He enjoyed good food and loved his coffee frappes from Peaceful Meadows Ice Cream. More than anything David loved spending time with his loving wife, family and friends.

    He is survived by his wife, Bonita R. (Angelo) Lekberg; his children, Eva Marie Harding, Anne Atchison and her husband Ryan, David A. Lekberg, Jr. and his wife Alexandria, Eric Lekberg and Amy Lekberg Ouellette; his grandchildren, Anne Shepherd, Caleb Grogan, Kayla Harding, Ryan Atchison, Jr., Zacheriah Atchison, Chloe Harding, Annabella Lekberg, David A. Lekberg, III, Joseph Lekberg and Elizabeth Lekberg; his siblings, Suzanne Ollivier Bailey and Karl Lekberg. He is also survived by his several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Ernest Lekberg. 

    Following Cremation, a Memorial Service will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (RT123) Brockton on Friday, March 8th at 7:00PM. Memorial Visitation hours will be held on Friday from 4:00PM-7:00PM.
